Television host, entertainment news correspondent, actress and lifestyle expert and are just a few of Gina Cheatham’s credits. Dubbed the “well-mannered socialite” on Lifetime Television’s 2014 reality docu-series “BAPS”, Gina’s effervescent personality made her the cast stand-out for all the right reasons garnering her national notoriety and celebrity status. However, it is Gina’s undeniable gift of gab and talent for connecting with people that originally launched her television career as a producer and host of “Only in St. Louis” on Double Helix Television which led to her first full-time position as a reporter and broadcaster for Metro Networks/I-Heart Media working in both the St. Louis and London, UK markets.
Therefore, it is no wonder that in 2015, she was appropriately chosen to host the nightly entertainment news show, The Daily Mix and After The Mix on STL TV which has quickly grown in popularity with both local and national viewers. The show features and highlights a vast array of local fashion, lifestyle and beauty brands and attractions throughout the St. Louis region. Celebrated by viewers for her natural beauty and bubbly down-to-earth personality, Gina was featured alongside Tracey Ellis Ross in the February 2015 issue of Black Sophisticate Style and Beauty international magazine recognized for her unique style and flair.
Never a stranger to the spotlight, Gina is also quite the budding actress with quickly growing list of supporting roles in numerous independent films and television series including Fox Television’s award nominated series, Empire and executive producer, Dick Wolf next great drama on NBC, Chicago Justice. Gina began her study of the performing arts at the well known Pelagie Green Wren Dance Academy and was a member of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Ballet Company. She also attended the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theater of Harlem, and Broadway Dance Theater. In addition, Gina also received numerous honors and awards as a member and 2nd seat cellist in the St. Louis All-City Junior Symphony.
Born and reared in Saint Louis, Missouri, Gina is a proud graduate of Howard University, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Marketing and furthered her studies abroad at Webster University in London, England and Geneva, Switzerland, where Gina earned a double Masters degree in Business Administration and Media Communications. And, although Gina has no plans to practice law, she is technically a perpetual third year law student who studied at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
However, amidst everything this talented and smart beauty has accomplished, one of Gina’s greatest endeavors to date is serving as a member of the Policy Action Coordination Team at the United Nations-World Health Organization in Switzerland helping write the 21st Century World Health Policy, and she finds working with today’s youth to achieve goals they once thought were impossible to be the most fulfilling. Currently, she is a volunteer youth advisor with St. Louis County NAACP Youth Council as well as a volunteer and local ambassador for Dress for Success/Connections to Success. Gina is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and when she is not working she enjoys fine dining, boating, riding horses, wine-tasting, playing tennis, golf and international travel.
