On January 2, St. Louis City got a new Recorder of Deeds. STL TV was there to cover the Swearing-In Ceremony. The new Recorder of Deeds, former State Representative, Michael Butler, took his oath of office in the City Hall Rotunda. He is the city’s first African- American recorder of deeds, defeating 38-year incumbent Sharon Carpenter in last year’s 2018 election.
